What did you want to be when you grew up?
I spent every possible moment outside as a kid. I was always rescuing injured critters and exploring a little farther from home than I was supposed to. I just knew National Geographic was waiting for me to pick up a camera and travel the wilderness’ of the world for them. If that didn’t work out, I wanted to be a zoologist working with big cats. I stuck to that plan until I took my first art history course in college and fell in love with art.

If you had an hour to kill at lunch time where would you go?
I like to visit the cats up for adoption at the doggy daycare. They always appreciate the company and ear scratches. On sunny, warm days, I like to sit on the loading dock outside PNCA and remember what it was like to be an art student.

If you could invent an iPhone app, what would it be?
Something really annoying and intrusive that would make me stick to a workout schedule. No excuses.

What was your first paying job?
I used to help out at Durant Lumber Company in the small town of Durant, Oklahoma when I spent summers there with my grandparents. It has been the family business for three generations. I sorted nails and bolts and washers, lined up paint cans, swept. You know, general child labor stuff…haha When I was about sixteen I designed the logo they are still using. I think it is probably time to revisit that.
