If you had to get lost in Portland, where would it be?
It would be Powell’s Bookstore. It’s definitely one of my favorite places to spend hours getting lost.
What three websites do you visit regularly?
Other than the daily operational sites such as Yahoo, Google, Youtube, Wikipedia, I often visit a few blogs: Zen Habits, Post and Grant, The Sartorialist. I also visit Apartment Therapy and Web MD regularly. I guess that’s more than three, but there are so many great sites.
If you could be a famous woman from history who would you be?
It’s hard to pinpoint a single one. So many women have inspired me, each in a different aspect. Lately, Dilma Roussef has been a major inspiration. As the first female president of Brazil, she will be an incredible role model to the women in a country historically known for its machismo culture. She has had an amazing path leading to the leadership of the country during such a relevant time in its history.
Other women that I admire are Coco Chanel, Martha Graham and Julia Child.
What’s your favorite hole in the wall restaurant?
I am fairly new to Portland and am still exploring the food scene. As an avid foodie, however, I am convinced Portland is the mecca for amazing food at reasonable prices and low pretense. I feel like almost every food cart in town would be a phenomenal hole in the wall, if they were a brick and mortar venue. Having said that, my favorite “real” hole in the wall restaurant is Pine State Biscuits. The Reggie Deluxe is one of the most indulgent, satisfying and delicious meals ever created.
